Privacy
Galuma collects no data. Your nights stay on your iPhone and in your iCloud account, and we never have access to them.
In short
- No account to create, no ads, no analytics.
- Galuma has no server: we receive neither your nights, nor your sounds, nor your name.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
The microphone
During a night, and only once you've started it, Galuma listens for awakenings, noise, snoring, coughing and sleep talking. Sound is analysed on your iPhone and never sent anywhere.
Short audio clips (a snore, a sentence) stay on your iPhone and are deleted after 7 days, except the ones you mark as favourites. They are never synced with iCloud.
Your nights and iCloud
Your nights are saved on your iPhone and synced between your devices through your private iCloud account. Apple encrypts them; we have no access to them.
What Galuma reads, if you allow it
- Health: nights recorded by your watch, to refine your sleep stages. Galuma writes your nights there when no watch has.
- Calendar: today's events, to sum up your day when you wake. Nothing leaves your iPhone.
- Approximate location: for the morning weather, provided by Apple Weather. Your location is not stored.
- Home: your lights, to dim them at bedtime and turn them on when you wake.
- Screen Time: the apps you choose to pause when you wake. Apple doesn't even tell us which ones.
You can withdraw each permission at any time in Settings on your iPhone.
Galuma's tips
Tips and answers to your questions are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence. Your nights are never sent to any AI service.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase go through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we see neither your name nor your payment method.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app erases your nights from your iPhone. To erase them from iCloud too: Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Storage > Galuma. You can export your nights first, from Me in the app.
Children
Galuma is not aimed at children and collects no data, theirs included.
